Sets of Three

Well. We all know lots of things come in threes... Well here is what I knowabout our 3!

We may have 3 Bengals fans...

We may have 3 Buckeye fans...
for sure football fans. Good thing we will have lots to watch once they arrive since we will not be leaving the house to much.

We for sure have 3 Sweet peas!

Week 26 Ultrasounds

Week 26 ultrasounds. Here are some cute fuzzy grainy pictures of the babies.

Baby A - Supine as usual. At least we know his/her spine is developing well.

Baby B - We get to see her cute little profile again with her monkey pose. Her hand is at the middle of the right side of the photo above her forehead... right where the X is on the bar her little fingers are each of those lighter lines... She is so going to be a drama queen.
You can see her little nose, eye and each of her lips. What a cute profile.

Baby C - He is looking up at us this time. His head is on the lower left side of the photo. Look for an oblonged shape that has black dot towards the top. That black dot is the eye cavity. The white down facing L is his nose. If you look down his body, towards the right in the photo you can see each of his little rib bones, those white lines.

His little left hand is that small circular fist on the top of his ribs. I am convinced these will be great halloween photos some day.

Week 26 - Belly Shots & Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July...

We hope you were able to enjoy the 4th of July. No big parties or shin digs for us this year.
We had a bit of scare when we went to the doctor on Friday. My body had decided that it was going to show some pre-cursors for indicators of pre-term labor. Which was not an expected outcome given that things have been going so well. But thanks to modern medicine we can treat me. As for the babies... they are fine, still growing and active and completely unaware that my body thinks there is only 1 and that by all indicators my uterus is already past the size for one baby to be born. So the doctor prescribed some medicines for me and them and a lot more rest for me. Hence why all these pictures are getting uploaded and we went to see Eclipse yesterday and the pool.

Well like most things in life we are learning to be flexible and that I have no control. Please think good thoughts and prayers for us that we continue to hope and pray that these babies can stay growing safely inside of me.

Your turning Violet Violet

So I must say there are days I totally feel like this!

Have you seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... Well some days i feel like i am turning into Violet. :) All for a good reason, just entertaining. Enjoy!

Belly Shots - Week 25

Well as expected my belly continues to grow, because these babies are continuing to grow. They are all over 1 & 1/2 lbs. At our trip to the doctor the the check up went fine only small issue, which I thought at the time was my increase in spiderveins in my legs and some swelling. The Dr.'s dad is a vascular surgeon, so she thought I should get a leg scan just to make sure there were no blood clots in my legs. Well as the nurses tried to find a location for me to go to we found out that the scan places did not want to work after 3:30pm on a Friday. So needless to say that is how I wound up at the hospital ER. At least they sent me to the family birthing unit instead of the actual ER. Well as you might assume, not being an emergency, i waited... read my book... waited.. Jeff camefrom work to be with me. We waited... We learned that the waiting room at the family birthing unit is very much a Detroit hospital - the magazine selection was very limited. Car and Driver, Auto, Mechanics.... So needless to say if you come to visit at the hospital... BRING YOUR OWN READING MATERIAL.

We finally got the scans - no issues as the doctor thought but 5 plus hours later we were still waiting to leave. I had not eaten since lunch and they almost did not want to let me have the protein bar in my purse
until after the procedures.... Another not
e to self. Pack a cooler for next Dr appointment with drinks and food. :)

I was so glad to go home and get rid of my hospital bracelet. I was hopeful i would not need one of those until they were going to make me 3 more to join mine.

So this week they are eggplants. We bought a few and they unfortnaktely they decided to mold before I could take some weekly pictures, so we only got a few belly shots. Oh well. Good thing that is not happening to the babies.

Week 25 Ultrasounds

As you saw, my belly is growing mostly out at this point. Baby C is my most active. He loves to kick/punch. I have a feeling I am going to be chasing this one. He has now figured out how to get his feet up near my sternum and kick my stomach. He has also figured out to get his head in my ribs. Lucky for me he usually prefers to be upside down. Here is a great picture of his leg... growing nice and strong and the source of much of my belly jumps.

Baby B - Here you can see her eyelid and little hand above her profile. For those of you, who used to be like me and had no idea what the fuzzy colors were let me show you. If you look in the center of the photo with all the dots directly below those dots you see a semi oval shape with a squiggly oval in the middle, that is the eye lid just below that is a little half u or sideways L that is lighter - that is her nose and the dark spot below is the her lips. She is looking up at the camera... ( a sign of things to come i guess)

Where you see the bar on the right of the photo about half way in the middle by the X is her hand each of those lines is a finger. ( i promise) She is kind of doing a monkey pose with the hand above her head. I guess we will have to check the trees for her.

Baby B loves putting her head in my ribs...they are permanently bruised at this point, but at least it is getting bigger and she is going to be one smart cookie.

Baby A - He/She is getting more active especially when i am laying down. I guess it helps when you do not have your brother and sister sitting on top of you. Baby A is almost always facing my spine so we have plenty of shots of her spine and seems to be the most quite of all three. Baby A is also a little bit of a frog kicker. Good thing my organs are all basically mushed anyway.

This rare shot of Baby A's profile is adorable. It is amazing to see the nose & lips and eyes.

Each of them have their own little personalities, it will be interesting to see how they develop into little people.

Week 24 - Belly Shots

Here we are Week 24 - Papayas

I was so intimidated by the size of the papayas at the store I had to leave the first time and go home. How could 3 of these be inside me? So when I went back to the store I picked the smallest Papayas I could find. Strangely they are still huge but I felt better... Got to love those crazy hormones.

With 3 piled high this is my tribute to the juggling i am going to do. And look who is looking on in the background. I love this photo!

Now while it is Reeba i am concerned with jettisoning herself over the crib rail. It is Ty that will be the first to inspect everything and everyone. My only concern with him is his snuggling. He just might decide to lay on top of one of the triplets and if so i know for a fact he is going to outweigh them in the beginning. Should be interesting.... Well back to the photos!

Jeff's First Father's Day

Now most of the posts recently have been about me and the babies. Much to our delight this one is entirely devoted to Jeff. My husband soon to be father of triplets!

Nothing says Father's day like lots of MEAT! So Jeff and i packed a bag and headed downtown Detroit to celebrate. We checked into the Detroit Renaissance Center to check in. Just as it turns out all of the UAW workers were checking in for their convention to name a new head... wonderful.

We got dressed and headed out to Roast - Iron Chef - Michael Symon's new restaurant in the Cadillac Westin Hotel. His entire menu is focused on meat other than some mainstays they are constant changing the types of meat they are cooking based on the chef's menu and the seasons.

The restaurant was very modern with a slight warm twist of wood accents. The serving table in the middle of the dinning room like Charlie Trotters. Not to mention the view into the kitchen and the giant spit roasting a lamb while we were there.

Much to Jeff's delight, they had an extensive beer menu, with small Trappist producers from all over, it reminded me of the Belgium Trappist beers he had in New Zealand, he got to sample several of those and one of their signature rye whiskey cocktails... Now Mr. bartender just has to learn to make it at home. We started with a Bone Marrow appetizer which i had not had. Much to my dismay the menu was filled with items that were on my banned list. So we agreed to return after my food restrictions have been lifted. Now while Jeff had had the Marrow before it was my first. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste even with the slightly gelatinous texture.

Second course, Jeff ordered the crab chowder soup. This was by far the best crab corn chowder i had ever had. It was so fresh and tasty.

Next up the porterhouse for 2... it should have said for 4. But lucky for us we were eating for 5! The rosemary fries were awesome and i highly recommend. As for dessert - well we sampled the chocolate cake, Guinness ice cream and the Butterscotch Creme Brulee, my favorite., although the ice cream was a close second and Jeff's favorite... the chocolate cake while good, not worth it.

After all this engorgement it was all we could do to get back to the hotel and fall asleep. A great way to spend some time together. It almost felt like we were back in the city having a night on the town. I even got to wear heels! it was great to spoil Jeff after he has done so much for me and the babies these past few months. With tons more to come.

Nothing says happy father's day like lots of meat and Beer!
Happy 1st Father's day Jeff!
