Move out day

Well it is here folks. We moved out of our Chicago Condo... Man are these movers efficient. What we are good at with spreadsheets they are good at with stuff... It tooks us a whole day to pack the apartment and we did not have that much stuff. Amazing. Not only that Brian and Mark were awesome. They totally realized how this is emotional as well. Huge Kudos to Palmer Moving. Who would have thought that after months of not having a couch... well let just say you really appreciate sitting on a couch... not the floor or a bed...

San Diego

Thanks to A-Lisa for hosting my Sunny San Diego Weekend. We had way to much fun. Hanging out, walking the beach, going to the wine tasting and hanging out with her swim team friends. Thanks for being the best hostess... Can't wait to come back and visit. Loved the 80 degree weather. much better than the snow in Minneapolis!

Kristy was our server and we had a fabulous time and enjoyed every minute. Huge kudos to her and the staff. We even got signed menu's by the chef and our waitress. Thanks. You will see his awesome gift. The apple Iphone... yes. and now i am second place. My own fault i guess. Well he deserves it. Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

Rafting Part 2

And then is starts to rain.... Then pour.... then Hail... we were out of the boats and running for cover in a shelter on the side of the river... Turned freezing and then we were in the water just trying to stay warm... so much for sweating to death earlier...

Rafting Part 1

Rafting. We headed out to go rafting all of us. What an adventure it was... All kinds of special campers, curvy bus ride, some white water mishaps, some fun and oh yeah pouring rain and a hail storm! It was an exhausting day. Starts out so hot we can barely stand it to a gorgeous ride on the river....

60th Birthday Party

All together at sunset. We met in the Great hall for some pictures and birthday gift openings. Then we had dinner on the Sunset Terrace. Great fun, food, and family.

Biltmore Estate

We were up early a little too early it turns out as we have to wait for the Biltmore grounds to open to get onto the grounds. We were #2 in line though. Got our tickets and headed into the enormous estate. The estate is gorgeous and so inventive for the turn of the century. We toured the house, shops, grounds, petting zoo and the winery. Picked up some wine to take home.

Asheville, NC

Arrived in NC after a trip from NYC to Detroit and Detriot back to Detroit and then Detroit to Asheville. We took of and halfway to Asheville our Northwest flight had to turn around because 2 of the 3 auto pilots stopped working. Okay... Really. Isn't that why pilots are trained to ummm FLY??? So it took an extra 2.5 hours to get there. Lovely. We walked around Ashville and then headed to the Grove Park. Gosh it is gorgeous. We got some dinner in the Blue Ridge Dinning room and then headed to the great hall for some music and rocky top dancing.

Morrell's Wine Bar

We went to Rockafeller Center and then went to Morrell's wine bar. We got to try several different things. They also had Hall Wine. One of our absolute favorites. We have not found it served at any bar-restuarant. We did find it in a grocery in NC. I bought some then and would bring it back with me, that was before the NO LIQUID rule. Wow that seems like ages ago... Geesh! It was so much fun and completely empty, because as the bartender informed us. Everyone had gone to the Hamptons!

Waldorf Astoria

Just hanging out at the Waldorf Astoria. Cooling off after our really long day outside! They had all these gorgeous flowers. They had this arrangement that took them all day to put together. Amazing.
